1) What is hand writing analysis actually all about?

Handwriting Analysis, also known as Graphology is essentially a scientific system that reveals a person’s personality traits through the strokes of his/her handwriting. Technically, it can also be described as a manifestation of a connection between a certain neural pattern that corresponds with a certain behavior or personality trait.

2) What are the chances of it going wrong?

The science of Handwriting Analysis is 100% accurate. However, it must be said that at the end of the day – since it is a Graphologist or a Handwriting Analyst who is really analyzing the writing, it is only as good or as accurate as the analyst, which means there are 100% chances of it going right and vice versa! The analysis is only as good as the analyst.

3) Change is an omnipresent and people do change, so does a person's handwriting also change when his behavior or personality changes?

Ofcourse, experiences change you and your perception & meaning of life all the time. These changes, when they become more or less well-ingrained (like a habit) the changes begin to show in Handwriting.

4) Can any physical traits be told with the help of handwriting analysis?

Not that I am aware of. No! However, physical ailments can be seen in Handwriting. This is currently being researched and therefore claims cannot be made with full authority. But there are instances where that has occurred and turned out to be true.

5) As a trainer who gets to know people at their legitimate best, does it make you more of an intrusive person even when you are with friends or family?

If I think back about times when I used my abilities to understand my friends or family and their behavior, I can’t label any of it as being intrusive. I think psychologists, trainers, handwriting analysts – anyone who falls in the basket of being psychologically more aware than others is labeled as being intrusive, when in fact all of these people when learning any of these skills only become more and more aware of the complexities of human nature. This brings much more understanding & respect for people’s need for privacy. There’s a lot of genuine empathy and respect that comes as a function of being able to read, observe and understand human nature. So, to answer your question, No, I don’t think it makes me or others like me more of an intrusive person. In fact it’s the opposite & it makes us genuinely more caring and empathic towards human beings.

6) Any worthwhile experiences you had during the process of training people, which you would share with us?

In 2007, I was hired as a Soft Skills Trainer by a well-known Business School. At 22, I was younger to half the students in the class. Sometimes, students found an excuse to be dismissive of the subject because it was a ‘soft’ skill & they had a teacher who was younger to them anyway. One amongst these ‘dismissive’ students was a very intelligent but quiet student who never spoke to anyone in class nor participated in any activity. After a few lectures, I opted for a feedback session. When the class gave me some typical responses, I asked this quiet student to tell me what he thought of these soft skills lectures. He unhesitatingly told me that he thought they were a waste of time. That encouraged a few more to be honest and say that it did not add value to them being an ‘MBA’. I used that as a good opportunity to explain to them why ‘soft skills’ were important. That maybe, they didn’t realize how they were changing with every session – the fact that someone quiet even chose to speak is a big step. In a management scenario, this will go a long way when he wants his voice to be heard. After that, the next assignment that the students submitted to me was so much more genuine and honest. And the best one was from that quiet student. He wrote an original story and when I made him read it out in class, I knew he had touched many others in his class. A lot of the students struck up conversations with him. They asked him questions and he was happy with the attention. I knew that he was a changed person thereon. This also broke a lot of notions of “Soft skills” for many in the class. It brought a huge change in the atmosphere in my class.

7) What is the most common fear or issue for which people report to psychologist/hypnotists?

Communication problems – between parents and teens. That tops the list.

8) Most believe that technology has increased the expectation levels which has lead to frustrations. Any comments?

Frustration is a result of badly managed emotions or incorrect coping strategies on behalf of the individual. Technology & the increased level of expectations arising from it are only excuses. If you learn how to manage your self – physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically & spiritually, frustration wont be a worry.

9) Einstein said maturity is nothing but controlling anger, while Edmund Hillary said learning something from every failure is maturity and Twain concluded that the courage to smile on ourselves makes a person mature and this is the start of a journey called life. What is your definition of maturity?

Albert Ellis the famous American psychologist sums up what I think of maturity.

“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.”

10) If you would have to sum up what you learnt from life in a quote, what would the quote be?

This too shall pass

11) Being a multi facet person, we are sure you would make an amazing writer, so what genre would you prefer to write?

I would definitely prefer writing Fiction – Romance/Tragedy.

12) Kindly tell us about your future plans?

My future plans are as varied as me. I have too many things on my to-do list because all of them are soul-stirring in some way. Contributing to people tops the list for me. So, a book on graphology is a definite plan. Also, setting up a Training Solutions Firm or a Learning & Facilitation Institute will definitely happen.

13) What would be your advice to young minds and other creative people?

Keep learning all the time. Don’t stop learning. Trust your instincts & have the courage to do what you love. Then, when you look back at your life, you will feel like you lived well!
